a ticket to freedom

I'm from the Cayman Islands, and this is my personal blog (I don't normally post personal things here though). I'm a fan of classical music, and LOTR. Three years ago I decided it was a great idea to teach myself Korean and how to play the cello. Two years ago, I lived in Tampa, where I met some of the greatest people I've ever known, and I'm patiently waiting for the day that the Lord leads me back there.

A Confident Woman Is Positive
by Joyce Meyer

Being negative and being confident do not go together. Like oil and water, they just don’t mix. Being negative opens the door to a lot of problems and disappointments, which fuels the fire for more negativity. Fear is the “dark room” where all your negatives are developed. So why not look at the brighter side of life and believe something good is going to happen to you?

Many people, when encouraged to think positively, often reply, “That is not reality.” But the truth is, positive thinking can change our current reality. God is positive—it’s the way He is, the way He thinks and the way He encourages us to be. Romans 8:28 says, And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose…(NLT). Therefore, being positive is simply a matter of looking at things from God’s perspective. It’s keeping our thoughts in line with the truth of His Word.

What kind of thoughts are filling your head? Are they agreeing with Scripture? If they are not, then they didn’t originate with God. If you want to fulfill God’s plan for your life, you will need to learn to think positively so you can become the bold, confident woman God created you to be!

22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

spiritualinspiration:

We all have areas where we need to come up higher. Perhaps you’ve struggled with a certain area year after year. Instead of getting down on yourself or trying to find solutions on the internet, maybe it’s time to pray and say, “God, I need Your help. I’m asking for Your strength.”

When you humble yourself and admit that you cannot do it on your own, that’s when God can enter the scene. That’s when He can turn it around. A lot of times we think of dependency in a negative light, but dependency on God is not a weakness; it’s a strength. It enables you to tap into His power. When we yield our weakness, that’s when God shows up the strongest. But when we don’t turn to God, really, that’s a sign of pride. We’re saying, “God, I don’t really need You to help me run my life. I’m doing okay. I’ve got it all figured out.” God will step back and let us do it on our own.

Today, what is holding you back? Surrender it to God. Let Him do His perfect work. Find strength in your dependency on Him.

A Prayer for Today

Father, today I surrender all to You. Search my heart and mind. Show me if there is any area where I am trying to lean on my own strength. I choose today to trust and rely on You knowing that Your strength is perfect in my weakness in Jesus’ name. Amen.
